Okay, well first of all, this tour amazed me, it’s really good.
It starts with an intro, Ares is played and footage of all the Gackt tours is shown. Then at the end a weird, fast, Japanese conversation is heard. Gackt talking with a girl, it seems. It’s very short and fast and… chaos.
Then the first familiar tones of Cube are played and the stage comes on screen. The performance of it is really amazing, the “dance moves” are really good, just like in the Moon tours.

After Cube, Maria is performed. I really am not a fan of those songs from the Rebirth album (Maria, uncontrol, seven etc), but I really loved Maria and the song that followed uncontrol. Both had that Gackt spirit that just makes you melt.
After that seven, and the same applies as with Maria, but his voice is again not as good as when he sang it during the R&R tour…
REDEMPTION rocks on screen and blew me away. It was really good, but there was a funny thing. You’s rap parts… he rapped the first rap line and the audience went “YAAAAAY”, which is good, but every time You rapped the spotlight shone upon Ju-Ken…
Ash is good, but again I preferred the DIABOLOS Tour performance better, but at times the vocals seem to blow you away, so it’s like one part is good while the other is slightly less good…

After the ballad/rock song it’s back to the Moon era.

First NINE SPIRAL and it becomes really funny. He “strips” off his coat (in a really, really WRONG way) and then starts dancing, and it’s just too funny. SPEED MASTER follows and the hilarious dancing continues. The first fanservice is being done, but not with You as you’d expect, no this time the lucky boy is… Ju-Ken… Really a surprise, to me at least. There a few possible explanations:
1: Gackt likes blondes
2: Gackt doesn’t like You anymore
3: Gackt doesn’t want the world to think he and You got a love-relationship…

Anyways, then the IMO best performance is being… performed. Lu:na, the vocals are A-MA-ZING, plus some audience-involved activities, including the water bottle.
After that Storm comes up, and it’s really… really straight. Two female dancers are with Gakuto and he kisses them (through their masks?) and well dances some more.

The same applies for Papa Lapped A Pap Song and the dance with the hand is back again, the audience is really doing its best to do it as well.
Then one of my favorite performances is back: Kalmia, those who have seen the Requiem et Reminiscence Tour know what I’m talking about, mentally disturbed Gackt is back. The vocals are really good again.
Fragrance, mind forest and Metamorphoze are… well good, but I haven’t really watched them, Metamorphoze’s vocals, though, are through the roof and the lighting is really good.
Birdcage is the “last song” and a very good and powerful performance takes place.”

That’s the end?”-”No!”
On the second disc are three more performances:
Mirror, I personally don’t like that much anymore, it’s just over-played, BUT it was very funny to see him go crazy…
ANOTHER WORLD is back again, with the extended intro, but no Gackt X Chacha kiss anymore (or I must’ve missed it). It’s really nostalgic and well-played and Gackt keeps on going.

The real last song is Kimi ga Oikakete Yume. I LOVED it, it had a ballad intro, and it was really a very good closing song. Even though his voice isn’t as powerful as it was when he released it, the performance was, and I got swept away.
There’s some more bonus stuff on it, but mostly the CMs promoting the tour in Mandarin, Korean and Japanese.
*~*~*

OVERALL I really liked the concert, it had its cons and pros, but was really good, definitely one of his better concerts. EVERYONE has to buy it when it gets released officially. (LOL XD)
It’s actually like a second Best Of tour (Sixth Day Seventh Night being the first), but with more rare songs like mind forest and Birdcage.
I give it a 8/10 score, not a 10..10, because of the fact his voice at times isn’t as reaching as it could back in the day and some weird choices of song (no Vanilla and \again\ Mirror =( )
That was all, stay tuned
… or something xD.

I thought some of Drug Party was really amazing, and introduced me to a few Gackt songs which I wasn’t that crazy about before.
He looked absolutely fantastic in it, and so did Chacha. (Who the cameraman seemed pretty fond of no?)
I really enjoyed the Mirror performance where You and Chacha are taking the piss out of Gackt, I thought it showed the human side of the band rather than the choreographed, manufactured feel
not that Gacktjob seem manufactured its just, it was cool to see them mucking about
BTW Ravi, That did happen after the concert. Gackt faints after pretty much all performances theres loads of photos on photobucket. After the MARS tour he had to go into hospital for sixth months. Its probably his obsession with weight loss and the fact he doesnt eat carbohydrates
xxx
I saw a video where he collapsed on that tour (Drug party tour)…I mean, he was carried by his 2 body guards and was removing some of his accessories..Did it happen after the concert???
Everyone always wonders if Gackt lip syncs, I belive like all live DVDs there are times when they use overdubs. I”m sure he does sing all songs live but replaces some with overdubs when they can not be mixed to meet his standard.
at least that is my thoughs on it, I”ve been a musician all my life so I do know a little about lives and recording.
I give this a 9/10. I couldn’t blame Gackt comparing these songs to his previous perfomances of the these respective songs because Gackt actual stated that he wanted to do most of his songs in this concert in a different way from his previous performances so that they would be a new experience.
I like the songs he choose. Quite a few Rebirth songs which is one of my favorite albums of his and also an album nearly forgotten it seems… Anyways, I really like this and look forward to Gackt’s involvement in S.K.I.N. and his future projects.
He didn’t lip sync on all of his songs. I can tell you which ones he did though. REDEMPION/Lu:na/Storm and some parts of Ash. (If you don’t believe me, listen to those tracks on their repsective albums and then watch the performances of them;they sound too close..) All other songs to my knowledge are really Gackt’s voice. (If you want to know how I know this, I simply ripped high quality mp3′s of all the songs on this DVD and listened to them.) Lu:na wasn’t suprising though since Gackt has always lip sync Lu:na (ALL PERFORMANCES).
Personally, I love this concert, and I like Gackt’s newer voice. (Not the one of this concert, but his Returner voice.) I think his voice is still evolving,(it’s much heavier now, but he sings his songs with ease as shown in this concert) I think this a new era from him, and he’ll continue to sing from his heart from now on. The last song in this concert was flawless and should have been on his Returner single. >
Well all the songs got his “new voice”, the Love Letter one, so I doubt it’s lip syncing, unless they recorded it off of the tour itself
almost all of them, especially emu for my dear…and it didn’t sound very good either, but i love him so its ok. overall though, the concert didn’t measure up to his older ones. they get progressively worse almost.
You think he was lip synching? What songs then?
oh gosh…it was good, but was he lip synching? it was sort of obvious
