Anime Review: Green Green

Unfortunately, University has given me very little time to come up with much in the way of series surfing. Given my lack of free time, I’m going to have to cut down to reviews only. I hope you enjoy reading them.

Title: Green Green

Genre: Love-Romance/Comedy

Syopsis: Two schools (one girls-only and one boys-only) are undertaking a month-long experiment to see how merging to become one co-ed school would work out. Takasaki Yusuke, the male students’ representative takes beating after beating as his perverted friends, the “Baka Trio” drag him from one embarassing situation to the next. As the series progresses, Yusuke-kun is hounded by more and more girls, but one of them, Chitose Midori, is not all that she seems.

My Opinion: If you’re looking at this for the romance, you’d be better off watching two dogs doing the dirty. Up until a certain point the love in this series is one-sided and pretty bland. The comedy is great, with the aforementioned Baka Trio forgetting what little morals they have and getting into a variety of humorous, though cliched, situations. Yusuke himself is your stereotypical love-romance main character; responsible, mature, healthy, kind, good-looking and popular with all the students, so his actions are pretty predictable. Midori is the unpredictable, wild one, willing to throw everything away for her one-sided love. A series full of panty-shots, innuendos, and busty young girls, it’s pretty much a cliche in itself (up until the badly-written, yet decently original ending). Sill, a decent watch if you can get by that, though the rushed and anticlimatic ending may have you shouting at the screen.

Itsumo, great to see you back! And as for the time constraint issue – no worries at all, I totally understand! Feel free to post any reviews (or other items) you like, anytime you find a spare minute, and also FYI: the posts don’t have to necessarily be super-long or in-depth; short posts on anything that you may want to write about are always fine too!

Thanks a lot for your reviews.
