On 26th December, TOSHI gave an in-store event at Apple Store in Shibuya, Tokyo.
A lot of audiences had been anxiously waiting for his arrival after the scheduled starting time of 08:00P.M.
There suddenly were shouts of joy from the crowd when TOSHI finally came down a spiral staircase with an announcement of his appearance.
“I had to join YOSHIKI for a press interview. He asked me to come ‘cause he said he hates to be alone. Sorry to be late.” said TOSHI and made the audiences laugh.
In 2008, TOSHI organized an Eco Hard Rock band; “TOSHI with T-EARTH” and released 2 albums of the band, and as a solo artist he challenged various new projects such as “TOSHI DUET”, besides joining reunited XJAPAN in Tokyo Dome Concerts in March and the Count Down Live on the last day of the year. And, in the new year of 2009, we will find him more active with other new projects.
“I often talk of ecology, but it is kind of contradictory that we emit too much carbon dioxide during concerts. However, I’ve found a good solution for this, that is, we are going to give ecological live shows utilizing lithium ion batteries. To put this technology to pratical use is still difficult, but our challenge will make truly a giant step.”
TOSHI announced that he will promote “The Road to Perfect Ecology Project” committed to utilize this technology and will give concerts at sea ports and other beautiful places as it will be 150th anniversary year for most of the sea ports in Japan.
“This is a big scale and truly meaningful ecological project. Such inventions that can contribute greatly to the environment of the earth, and those technologies we will spread not only within Japan but all over the world. ”
“The “Road to Perfect Eco Project” tour will be mainly sponsored by a major home electronics maker, and LAWSON; major convenience chain of 8,000 shops within Japan and KADOKAWA SHOTEN publishing company and other companies will also back it up.”
TOSHI announed another suprise news; “I will invite public applications for new members of “TOSHI with T-EARTH”, and also, I will audition members of a totally new band of my own produce, GAIA, a J-POP or J-ROCK band. For both bands, requirements for applications are you want to contribute to the earth!”

“I want to pursue real eco, yes, I want to do something practical to make our earth truly beautiful. And I wish to promote this project with a lot of thoughtful people, beyond any boundary of music industry or business, associating with them with heart to heart. I will appreciate your support also.” said TOSHI at the end of his talk and then sang “Taisetsu na mono” from 2nd album. His ardent performance touched not only his fans but those who happened to be there for browsing or for shopping at Apple Store.
After the event and at outside, TOSHI took a trial ride of an electric bike powered by lithium battery and showed his big interest to ecological technologies.
