P!NK masquerade. is a new single released by the J-Rock Oshare Kei band; SuG signed under PS Company. This is the 2nd single that the band released together with their new drummer; Shinpei. The first single they released together with Shinpei was Life2Die (or was it 39GalaxyZ and this is the 3rd already?). SuG is known for having a bright color of clothes, bouncy and happy personality, and positive messages when it comes to their music and so are the other Oshare Kei bands.
P!NK masquerade. – the song is cute, especially if you have watched the PV and saw their vocalist, Takeru, danced. But let’s focus more on the song and not the PV. I love how everything rhythms in the song. I actually cannot stop listening to the song, not to mention watching the PV as well. Shinpei also did a great job. Though, I am too addicted hearing the song’s chorus because… it’s plainly addicting.
Steeze〜Chokkakku Bari Kata suppin ha〜 – the second track is cute, too… sounded too happy-go-lucky and too bouncy but that’s okay. I can already imagine kids jumping around as they listen at this track. I love the intro of the drums, guitars, and bass and how suddenly Takeru sang.
kagiri no tsuki、kimi ni tsumugu – well, this track seems different from the first two. This song is actually not that sounded so bouncy, but it sounded a little bit sad. Somehow, the way Takeru sang in here reminds me of Kra’s Keiyuu-kun, but the song still managed to sound cute. The chorus is good. It actually reminds me of an anime OST. I have to admit that I love Takeru’s emotion in this one, and also the rhythm of the instruments, but has the mixed of happiness and sadness, especially when Takeru is singing.
Now! The PV – the PV is cool! I like their costumes, and I heard they’re the one who designed it. Takeru is a great dance, reminds me of myself when I was young and I used to dance. The beginning of the PV, there is a Japanese guy who is trying to speak English but failed. I hate how a lot of people are making fun of the guy, but hey, we all know that in reality – the man can speak English fluently. I love how Takeru and Chiyu entered the bar, and how Masato bit the guard and killed him. I was screaming “AAAAHHHH!!!” while watching the whole PV.
Over all, I love the album and the PV. They’re experimenting with their music, their improving with their music; and I liked it.
