Itazura na Kiss’s final episode was aired in September 2008. This definitely a must watch anime for those school life, romance, and comedy anime lovers! Filled with over-the-top expressions and sweet moments enough to make you tear just a bit. I really enjoyed it seeing as I couldn’t stop watching it! I kept wanting for more. It’s a typical boy meets girl story with a little twist. See, Kotoko Aihara is a student in the Class F (lowest rank) and the guy she loves; Irie Naoki is in the Class A (highest rank). Well, Irie-kun is not your average good looking and sweet guy in most animes. He definitely didn’t make me swoon over him like Yuki Souma from Fruits Basket. His character is sort of like Kyou Souma from Fruits Basket without the hot tempered character; both cold on the outside but care for their loved ones deep inside. Irie-kun is perfect in everyway; smart, cool, rich, and also the most popular guy in school.

Kotoko on the other hand is well the opposite; not smart, clumsy, but quite well-off as her father owns a restaurant. She spaces out a lot and sometimes speak her thoughts out loud! She’s also pretty in my opinion compared to her best friends who are also in her class; Jinko and Satomi.

It started off with Kotoko-chan who fell in love with Irie-kun during a speech at the entrance ceremony. 2 years later, she finally approached Irie-kun and gave him a letter with her love confession. However, before she even finished her sentence, he rejected it. Of course our main actress got sad and was the talk of the school. People critising her as she was from the lowest class whereas Irie-kun was from the top class.

This anime really brought a lot of laughter thanks to their wacky characters, especially Kotoko-chan and Irie’s mother; Machiko. What’s a love story without a love triangle? Or square even? Kotoko’s friend, more like admirer, Kinnosuke Nakamura has liked Kotoko-chan since high school and never stops confessing his love for her eventhough he knows that Kotoko-chan is in love with Irie-kun. Kotoko’s new house was destroyed by a level 2 earthquake and that’s where the story picks up. I wish I could put more in but I don’t wanna add in spoilers so you have got to watch the show for yourself to see how fate changed both Irie-kun and Kotoko-chan’s lives.

I personally never had this much fun watching an anime in a long long time! This might be an old anime but for those who haven’t watched it yet, you definitely should give it a try =)
