Columnist, News Editor – A native of San Jose, Jackie Baker (his pen name)/Manila/Praha (manilakun@gmail.com) has always been a person that has loved various forms of entertainment, as he loves anime, manga, games and music, and he’s always doing various tasks as well as trying to learn more in the entertainment world. Jackie has been a game player ever since he was six and though he discovered subjects like “Dragonball Z” and “Sailor Moon”, he didn’t fully get to know Japanese music, anime and manga until around his junior year in high school. He’s one of the first people you should go to in regards of original seiyuu. Being discovered as an Animeblogger.net blogger, Manila joined J-Pop Express in 2007 to do various tasks like giving details on the latest games to come out in Japan for the monthly game column. Prior to joining, he was involved with various works including Anipike’s magazine and various game guides, and he has been involved with various anime/manga clubs also along with having experience with Fanime and with Anime Expo. Unlike every staff member here, you will not see him a lot because these days, he works on Manila’s Universe, his official site (which has changed its location). Whenever Jackie is not dealing with the usual forms of entertainment, he enjoys relaxing moments by himself, his knowledge of San Francisco Giants baseball and baseball overall, and various cards games. (He will wear hats or clothes of other teams, but he prefers wearing Giants apparel whether it would be the ones of San Francisco [major], San Jose [minor], or Yomiuri [Japan].) Some of the subjects of entertainment he loves are “Black/Matrix” (where he got his secondary nickname from and part of his first), “Justice Academy”, “Espgaluda”, “Love Hina”, “Full Moon wo Sagashite”, “Mizuiro Jidai”, “Area 88″, art from Arina Tanemura, music from Yuzo Koshiro and Puffy, and performances from Megumi Hayashibara, Tomokazu Seki, Takehito Koyasu, Yui Horie and Yukari Tamura.
