Now’s your chance to “have your Pocky and eat it too” :p, but will it really be a “fit” for you?…

The North American version of this game is officially scheduled to release today (Monday, May 19), but basically ALL US in-store as well as online retailers have sold out of all their pre-orders, merely listing the game as ‘coming soon.’ However….

WII FIT (w/ Wii Board) for the JAPANESE/ASIAN Version Wii IS HERE, IN STOCK!
GET IT HERE NOW! - US $129.90 ;)

It started out as a type of scale created by Japanese game designer Shigeru Miyamoto (Mario and Zelda) that he custom-developed as a fun and creative way to keep track of his weight (this Japan Today article rumors that the original prototype Wii Fit device was even inspired by sumo wrestlers, who “are so huge, [they] need two scales to weigh themselves” hmm). In any case, this “game” allows you to either simply keep yourself in shape (offering the capability to perform various physical exercises - the “balance board” can be used to do push-ups, as a snowboard, virtual skis, etc), or play various virtual sports games/other activities (including yoga, aerobics, and a kind of balancing game where “you play a penguin trying to catch fish in the air while balancing on a block of ice!”) [Of course, per Mr. Miyamoto's original intentions, the game can also be used for you to keep regular track of your weight and body mass].

The “Wii Board” that is used for all the action :D

Virtual fitness fun for the whole family :)

Shake that hula-hoop girl! :p

The game has been out for some time overseas, launching last November in Japan (where it has already sold 2 million copies), and has also been very popular throughout Europe. Similar to the Rockstar Games new blockbuster Grand Theft Auto IV, the Wii Fit is inspiring a lot of people to buy an entire brand new current gen. gaming console (Sony PS3 or Microsoft Xbox 360) JUST to be able to play this game!

What do you guys think? (As for myself, I admit this game looks really cute, and would be useful for exercising indoors in cold or icy climates in the wintertime, but I guess I would really prefer to do a workout using real equipment or running OUTSIDE! :d But “it’s all good” ^_^ …
